Warranty - Solar Modules come with a warranty of 25 years (which is 80% of total system cost). With this system, you are secure for any increase in electricity prices in future till 25 years. As the grid-prices increase, your savings also increase since the cost of generation through solar has remained constant. The balance of the system will have 5 years warranty.

80% savings on electricity bill - If your current electricity bill is ₹ 12000 per year (₹ 1000 per month) and you install a 1KW system, your system can generate 1500 units per year i.e. savings of 1500*6.25 = ₹ 9375 per year i.e. 80% of the bill

Overall Scheme

The focus is primarily on self-consumption of electricity generation by the consumer. The excess/surplus is either sold to or banked with the local utility. Net metering arrangements, thus, combine elements of captive consumption and exchange of power with the utility. The bi-directional energy meter is used.

Example:

Energy Produced by rooftop SPV system: 100 units
The energy produced by the SPV system used by the producer: 50 units
Net Energy transferred to Grid: A – B = 100 – 50 = 50 units

Scheme

The entire energy generated by the rooftop solar PV system is fed directly into the electrical grid and the system owner is benefited by feed-in-tariff based on the sale of power to the utility. The uni-directional Energy meter is used.

Example:

Energy Produced by rooftop PV system: 100 units (kWh)
Energy transferred to Grid: 100 units

No energy produced by SPV is used by the customer
